"A network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need."
Founded in 1833 by six university students in Paris under the patronage of St. Vincent de Paul, today the Society includes almost 900,000 members spread among 46,000 confraternities in 130 countries of five continents.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul exists to serve the poor, the suffering, and the deprived. Society members use their own resources, sharing not only possessions but the valuable gift of their presence.
The president of our local conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is Mrs. Rosie Sullivan-Lang.
We are always looking for new members to join us in this important ministry as we serve as the hands of feet of Jesus. Please call the church office at 318-256-5680 if you would like more information.
