We have added a new initiative to our Faith Formation classes in an effort to make sure we include charity and service to the church and to the community as part of forming our children in our Catholic faith.  We will include projects throughout the year to model these virtues for the students.

For our first project, our Faith Formation students will partner with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in honor of the feast day of St. Vincent de Paul on September 27th.  We are asking for donations of the following items to be used for emergency food bags distributed to those in need in our parish.

 

• Small bottles of water
• Small cartons of juice or juice mix
• Snack crackers with peanut butter or cheese (6-pack)
• Fruit cups (with peel-off tops)
• Vienna sausage (with pull-off top)
• Beanie-weenies (with pull-off top)
• Ravioli cups (with pull-off top)
• Spaghetti & meatballs (with pull-off top)
• Tuna fish packets
• Ritz crackers in small packets (generic is fine)
• Pudding (with peel-off top)

• Any high-protein food (high calorie food) items that can be eaten without having to heat or prepare.
• Pop-top and peel-off top containers are easier on people who are homeless and need food. 

Items may be dropped off in the boxes in the back of the church building, and Faith Formation students can bring their items to class on Wednesday nights.

This project will culminate in our first Community Activity on Wednesday, September 27th with a 5:30 Family Mass and Dinner where EVERYONE IS INVITED to take part!
